And after the Second Vatican Council, when the mass was moved into the vernacular

In the sixties, uh, there was this, you know, kind of

need, this quick need for uh easily singable music, which is where the folk masses came from because it was easy.

Uh it was easy to write, or I'm not easy to write, but it was easy to sing and it was, you know, mirroring the taste of the time, which was folk mass.

Then after that, uh the St.

Louis Jesuits came along and the response was that folk
