And I really, I know we say every guest is special, but this is really a special conversation.

And I really, I learned a ton.

Yeah, I think it's a great pricey for people who we were talking before the show, Maggie and I, that people might know a lot of Muslims, particularly if you live in a large city, but they might not know a whole lot about Islam.

And he does a wonderful job of explaining his faith and his practice of it and gets very personal, too.

The premise of your podcast, and I'm going to quote, is, in a media culture dominated by certainty, you lead with curiosity, doubt,

and a commitment to keep your guests laughing no matter how dark the subject matter.

So to begin with, as a comedian, why is laughter important to you and what can it do for us in the spiritual life, would you say?

When did you start using comedy to kind of help you understand life?
