Pretty young when I realized that I was probably gay.
And I remember, I would not have even heard of it.
This is something I cannot explain to people who are young.
Because it did not appear anywhere in the world.
There was no appearance of it.
There was no words for it.
Not even bad words for girls.
It didn't exist.
If I wasn't such a bookworm, I would never have heard of it.
But I did know of it from reading.

Well, there was a writer who I still recommend to people named John O'Hara, who was a very, very popular... Famous writer.
Yes, very famous writer.
He published many books.
He was not...
That highly regarded because he was so popular.
But he's a wonderful writer, very important American writer, I think.
And he was very popular then.
My mother would always take his books out of the library and I would read them or I would take them out of the library.
And he wrote about everything, John O'Hara, including lesbianism.
