And I remember the first time actually singing with them, which was in Taylor's Hall in Dublin.

And I was, you know, you might not believe this, Clare, but I was crippled with shyness, you know, and I'm not even sure if I wanted to sing.

I just wanted to be with them.

But the first time my brother Shay had, you know, given me this song called The Ploughboy Lads, which is on the first Black Family album.

And I was to get up and sing, you know, and I was so nervous.

I was absolutely crippled with nerves.

But I sang the first verse.

And then when they all came in on the harmonies, I felt like I was being lifted up on a cloud.

And it was like all of a sudden I can't.

I still feel the feeling when I think of it.

When you're singing with your family, there's something magical that happens that I can't describe.

But you just feel like you're being lifted up and carried and you're in heaven.

It's like that's what it's like.

Definitely not, because I had been asked to join a band previously and we had rehearsed and rehearsed, rehearsed.

And I was my first gig was in Slattery's.

I was only about 16 and I got up to perform and I got stage fright and I had to get back down again.

Nothing came out.

It was horrific.

So I thought I was going to have the same experience when I was in Taylor's Hall.

But it was just amazing.
