So that's just one example.
If we're thinking about the way we did things, you're going to spend a lot of money and get no benefit back.
And that's kind of an overlay in everything we do now, whether it be a five-year-old going to school or somebody interfacing as a retiree.
But when it comes to NZ Inc., which is probably the way I think mostly, I sort of think, what does the New Zealand of the future look like?
We have to be really deliberate about the fact we are going to have a lot less money.
So unless we can find a way of attracting investment into this country,
That will be our greatest challenge.
So if you look at a place like Ireland as a good example, which it was really in a very bad state of affairs economically, and then it managed to find ways of attracting the tech sector in and it built a really comprehensive technical, highly skilled workforce, brought a lot of people in, attracted them in, did some interesting approach with tax and rebates.
They sort of grew their bench strength because they leaned into the technologies of the future.
We don't really have that.
We don't have investment flowing into this country.
You know, we've got some with some of the infrastructure, but that's pretty much it.
Most companies have to self-fund for a long time.
They have to get pretty big before anybody's going to look at them because we're too small.
A lot of businesses people build and they think they're going to sell them for a million dollars.
And I say that a little bit tongue-in-cheek because every time I talk to someone that's got a small business, I say, you know, when do you plan to sell?
They say, oh, I plan to sell at 60.
How much will that be worth?
