We had people like Navman, you know, navigation systems that were being adopted around the world.

We had some of the technologies which today you would just go, wow, most of them have gone because they've been taken up by, bought out by bigger companies.
But it was an extraordinary time and actually New Zealand was really on the world stage from around 98 to about 2005 as a real technology hub, particularly around the creative sector and the games industry.
And, you know, there's some very funny stories.
And in the games sector, there's a company that you may have heard of.
It's in Wellington called Pickpock.
And Maria, who runs it back then, it was called She Interactive.
And it was a really weird spelling, S-I-D-H-E, She Interactive.
And the government were like, oh, we have this great games industry and She Interactive is doing these amazing deals.
And Mario would say to me, I'm making Barbie games for Disney.
