So Pittsburgh has other lines in the water as well.

And when you have all these things going on,

What that means is the Oilers are at a bit of a standstill with those three teams.

Now, there is one additional team that I've heard that has made a play for Darnell Nurse, and that is the San Jose Sharks.

Right.

That team is on Darnell Nurse's no list, and to this point in time, that has not changed.

Well, I don't think it would be problematic for him stepping back into that locker room because I think he's really well-liked.

But maybe for him from a mental perspective, I wonder if the toothpaste is out of the tube.

Just because, look, I mean, now that we get to, let's say he plays through this season and we get to next summer,

His deal shifts to a modified no trade, and when that happens, the Oilers have leverage to be able to send him wherever they want without his blessing.

So if I'm Nurse, I realize that this Band-Aid is about to get ripped off at some point.

I'd like to have control on where I'm moving, and I'd like to at least direct it so much as I can to a team that makes sense.

And...

To be honest, if I could get in with a team that's on the rise like San Jose is... I'm with you.

I'd strongly consider that.

But again, I don't know all the details of his personal situation.

Obviously, there's a family connection to Philadelphia.

I'm not saying that those teams ultimately won't circle back.

And maybe they will.
