Hello, Frank. How are you doing? Robert, how are you? Good. We are two days away from our Friesen Brothers free agent frenzy on Wednesday. And this is not exactly considered to be the deepest free agent class. Mm-hmm. But this has already been a very interesting last week since the Stanley Cup finals been over. And, you know, obviously, Tuesday, the Oilers announced Mike Babcock. We've got the ongoing situation with Darnell Nurse. There's been several trades made and other trades that didn't come to fruition. So I guess we'll start for you. Given this show is called Oilers Now, are you hearing anything on the Darnell Nurse front?
Last time I checked in on the file, Darnell Nurse had not expanded his three teams that he would accept a trade to. That included Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Boston. I think Boston... is narrowing in on a right shot defenseman. Okay. I think the Flyers have a few different things active. I think they'd like to ultimately get into the John Carlson sweepstakes if they could. I think they'd like to try on Zach Wierenski. So Pittsburgh has other lines in the water as well. And when you have all these things going on, What that means is the Oilers are at a bit of a standstill with those three teams. Now, there is one additional team that I've heard that has made a play for Darnell Nurse, and that is the San Jose Sharks.

Right. That team is on Darnell Nurse's no list, and to this point in time, that has not changed.

So there's one of three scenarios. The Oilers make a trade with one of the three existing teams. Scenario behind door number two is Nurse opens up his list to potentially include a team like San Jose. And number three is Darnell Nurse returns to Edmonton to play for the Oilers next season, which I think given the fact that the trade request came from Nurse's camp, I'd be intrigued to see what people think about that, whether that's an option or not. Frank, I'm going to give the floor to you. And you were a guy who during the 24 Stanley Cup final or certainly during the playoffs that year, you basically raised some early alarms here on where this was headed.
So on that note, do you think it's an option at all for Nurse to potentially return to oil country?
Well, I don't think it would be problematic for him stepping back into that locker room because I think he's really well-liked. But maybe for him from a mental perspective, I wonder if the toothpaste is out of the tube. Just because, look, I mean, now that we get to, let's say he plays through this season and we get to next summer, His deal shifts to a modified no trade, and when that happens, the Oilers have leverage to be able to send him wherever they want without his blessing. So if I'm Nurse, I realize that this Band-Aid is about to get ripped off at some point. I'd like to have control on where I'm moving, and I'd like to at least direct it so much as I can to a team that makes sense. And...
To be honest, if I could get in with a team that's on the rise like San Jose is... I'm with you. I'd strongly consider that. But again, I don't know all the details of his personal situation.
