Although I thought going into it, looking at both lineups, relatively equal mm as far as you know, veteran players and and young guys in there. So I thought it was apples versus apples. Which, you know, and it wa was it a high event game? No, it wasn't. I mean it was choppy at times as as you'd expect, but at least it was competitive. If you're evaluating younger players or or players that have been in your system for a while, it gave you a fighting chance to do that, I thought.

What's your uh what's your overall take on the Oilers preseason been so far? So far.

Um well I've never I I'm I'm one of those guys that I've I've never seen anything like this, not just with the oilers, but with the with the NHL. Mhm. When you consider that Um the disparity between the rosters that get sent on the road, the lack of opportunity for prospects to prove that they really belong on NHL rosters, um the fact that veterans can only play two games and we're you know, we're we're it it's a a two week window and we're into the regular seasons. It's difficult to measure. exactly what's going on. I mean and y you can hear it in the players' voices too, uh that you know, the veterans just want to get play in the regular season. The prospects are frustrated they're not playing as much as they want to.

So there have been things, individuals that have uh struck a chord and saying yes, th th this guy is gonna be a valuable member of this club. There are still some veterans that you're waiting to wake up. uh and and try to get into uh regular season form Um s so it's it's it's ki it's kinda difficult. I mean i uh you know, like friend and we're and what we're seeing in a lot of places is we're seeing too many Split squads. You know, we got uh there's another night tonight where Toronto and Ottawa are playing squit split squad games as Toronto and Montreal did on the weekend. So it it there's there's too too many variables right now in this and I'm I'm gonna be really interested to see what the managers think.

Yeah. Uh you know those split squad games, they're they're good for the prospects at least. You know that they're pretty good odds that you're gonna be playing in those, but uh yeah, I I agree with you. Um what's your overall take on Devin Levi? Uh saw him play last night for the first time in an Oilers uniform, spent the entire year last year in Rochester, you know, had some games with the Buffalo Sabres before that, but it was his first chance with, you know, NHL players on the ice and Uh it looks like he showed a pretty good version of himself.

Oh, I think he did well. I think he uh he he he he did exactly what he was supposed to do. There is an expectation of uh of of Levi, you know, being the the second goalie as the season starts if Freddie is still injured. So Jari and Levi have to play. Um y you do wonder uh Aiden why the Sabres gave up on him because and as K Cam knows the position better than I do.
