The fact to me today that Montreal retained half as much as they could indicates to me that Vancouver, at least at this exact moment in time, isn't projecting a massive shortfall in spending.

Now, you could always make that up somewhere else later on by trading for other contracts or other problem contracts, but to me, I think what it says is they got through the draft and thought that they might be able to move Elias Pettersson for a draft pick or something.

That obviously didn't materialize.

I still think there's probably a pretty solid likelihood on Jake DeBrusque.

I think Brock Besser is the most unlikely of the bunch.

I just think with his contract, it's a perfect value play for a guy who you can pretty much set and forget at 25 goals.

My guess would be Hellebuck.
