I'm sure they'd be one of those teams that would love to get in the mix for Dylan Larkin, particularly Ken Holland's relationship with Dylan Larkin going back to drafting him.
But that said, we don't know yet what kind of team the Kings are going to be because we don't know what they're going to be able to accomplish.
Right now, I see the Kings as a non-playoff team and a pretty firm one at that as they're constituted, but they don't really have an appetite for a team that's an also-ran.
They're an organization that they kind of know from a business perspective they need to be in the mix for the playoffs in order to sell.
And so I'd expect that to continue as a trend.
And it's kind of interesting now with Peter Laviolette, seven teams.
He's the only coach in NHL history to take six different teams to the playoffs, and seven is a lot.
I wonder what this year out of hockey, really for the first time in his career, a full year out of hockey, I wonder what that did for him.
