Fonterra was born out of the back streets of Hamilton.
Its head office used to be in Hamilton.
Just a small local business, Fonterra.
Yeah, it used to be a small local, couple of guys battling away, and then turned it into one of the biggest co-ops in New Zealand.
And we're coming up into Te Rapa.
and Hotatu.
Now, Tarapa is famous for the Tarapa Straits.
Which was, at the time, it was four lanes and it was straight.
And if you had an RX-7 or an Escort panel van on a Friday night, you'd head up the Tarapa Straits just after pouring diesel on the road outside the 50-order BP, doing some burnouts, and then you hit Tarapa Straight.
Is that kind of behaviour still going on?
Well, I was operating a Suzuki, two-door Suzuki Jeep.
It was a Jimny before the Jimny.
I like a Jimny.
And now it was a 900cc.
It wasn't even one litre.
