Good morning. Happy Friday to you,
Tony Lyle, and the rest of the agenda, Radi
Gontuggers.
Yes, an incredible Friday. Uh had quite an An entertaining Thursday afternoon, can I just say? Did you? Yeah, well yesterday obviously we're talking on the pod with Matt Heath about defacing political billboards. Oh yeah. And uh obviously uh it's always great to do to any well, I I'm a big twenty level, but is it a crime, by the way? Probably, yeah. It's probably someone's property vandalism. Yeah, but I mean it's on public property. That's what I think as well. We didn't ask for it to be put there. It's if anything, they're vandalizing our beautiful parks and uh Curb sides.
Yeah. Anyway.
So we were walking past one yesterday and it was the right honourable Winston Peters. Oh. And I thought, Oh, this is good stuff 'cause someone had given him um I'll hold that up so you can see it, I'll chuck this on there.
Well,
they've given him a little moustache, they've given him eyebrows, but Well it looks like they've turned him into um giggity giggity giggity quagmire. Well that could be the angle I've taken the photo. And so I thought, oh, this is great, I'll take a photo of this for the podcast. And I was walking home from school with the kids, and uh my boy who's nine was walking behind me. And what I didn't see was that alongside a pair of glasses, a mustache, and eyebrows, someone had written uh the C bomb right across his face. forehead. So I didn't notice it at all. Took a photo and then my boy sort of was wondering what I was taking a photo of. He walks up behind me, takes a little squiz, and I'd almost sort of walked on, didn't register he was even looking at it.
Yeah. And then he walked up and he just goes, Hey Dad. I go, yeah, he goes, Why does that man's face say cunt? And I was like, Oh, oh, little buddy. I was like, Yo, you can't say that man And he's like, I don't know what it means. What is it? And I was like, Uh, it's a swear word and he's like oh it's and he he thought he was in trouble.
Yeah.
So I had to have a parenting moment of saying, No, no, no, you're not in trouble, mate. Um You just read it off Winston's forehead. He and and he I mean, he obviously can read, he's nine years old. So he just was like, Oh, I haven't seen that word before and he's like, What does it mean? I'm like, Oh, it's just a bad word, yeah, you don't say and he's like, Oh, okay, should I and he was like, I mean, you're not in trouble, mate. You just read something. I I mean, I appreciate you reading it. And they he was like, Well, why would he have written it on his forehead? I was like, Well, you know Some people think that he he's a bit of a C word to be honest, little buddy. But I had to have a great walk home uh and then explain to him about vandalism.
Yes. About um why some words are bad words. Any And he said, Well, why did we make words that we can't say? Yeah. It's a good point. Good point. Well, I had to I went full dad mode. I was like, Well, not all words or it's just a word. It's when it comes down to it, there's no bad words really, it's just what our society No words can kill anyone. No They're fine. Um but you just don't really say it. Pete I said, but you know, honestly, it's just not worth the hassle. People will get all bent out of shape if you start walking around the school dropping the the C bomb. Yeah.
Don't yeah, there's a couple you need to stay well clear of. Yeah. So the C and the N you wanna stay clear well clear of.
Yeah, the N was hearty. I had to have that conversation with my daughter at one stage. She came home from a uh play date and she just said, Hey dad, uh what's the N word? And I had to say, Oh, uh and I was like, Ah, I'm not sure. What do you think it is? 'Cause you know sometimes they might say uh and it'll be like, you know, Nick and Poop or something. And she said, I don't know what it is. What is it? And I go, Oh, n it's n i you don't need to worry. It's it's a really bad word. And I was like Also You kind of shouldn't say the N-word. And she's like, no, no, I don't know what the word is. I'm like, no, but don't say that sentence.
