We were so jazzed, you know, you had forty eight thousand people at Eden Park going absolutely ape shit. The vi The vibe was immaculate, as the youth say, in the lead-up to the game. Yeah. It was so good. It was a little bit of rain around, it was a bit of like a A bit like he Squally? A bit squally. You know sometimes that that can affect your mood and you feel a bit frazzled. That wasn't the lead up, but once we got in our seats it all calmed right down and they put on a show like the the park was there.
Like, you know, it had that Epic pre-show. Um and it the it just felt epic. The crowd ran out. We went through our team and in the crowd we were actively saying, our team is so stacked. Um and then evidently just it just fell away and almost kind of felt like we never had it. It reminded me of that Fast and Furious uh scene where he's like, You never had me, you never had your car.

Well mate, um I'm devastated. I'm fucking devastated. I'm gonna be honest. It it it honestly felt like it felt like someone died. I don't know what it was, but it is just uh yeah, we we twenty nine weeks of a season, however long we had to endure, just for it to come come ri for to come I can't even fucking talk. We're a mess for it to come crumbling down like that was um yeah, it was uh it was just yeah, distasteful. And um I mean you can blame the refs look. I didn't blame the riff. I just put myself on Instagram last night with a photo of uh Ashley Klein. I didn't say anything, but uh yeah, look, there's gonna be a lot of hot controversy to come out of this. But uh, I mean, end of the day, we probably didn't play how we did.
We were the leading point scorer all season long. We averaged about thirty-two points a game, and for some reason in the last two home finals, we scored three tries. Like it's pretty, it's pretty grim viewing. It just uh there was summon off and uh I I think the finals occasion got to the Warriors Players.
Yeah, we never even looked likely. I mean, they seemed it it felt like it was a long time coming for them. Every time they got it, especially down that right hand edge, they would just carve off meters at will. And we never had one of those moments. I mean, a couple of pretty close range tries was all we had to show for ourselves. We had no sort of not many, I should say, bursting runs up the midfield or around the ruck. Uh and it's just it didn't have that feel like we were about to bust them open. If anything it was
wrong the last two weeks. Something's gone horrifically wrong. Because you can't go through a season like that and then suddenly get to two two matches and just completely fuck out.
