And if you might entertain me, there's a front page of the Business Post, which is Jack Chambers, who's calling time on what he calls endless state recruitment.
And this is how many civil servants really work for the state.
And he's saying, look, the bloated public sector staff headcount is up by
78,000 since 2019 and the pay bill is now over 31 billion.
Well, the reports are that 70% of the growth in the state's pay bill since 2019 have been the areas of health, disability and education.
Surely that seems reasonable enough, right?
It says, in terms of health, it noted that 33% growth in staff since 2017 has, quote, significantly outpaced the population growth of 14%.
It also noted that within health staff, increased management administrative numbers had also increased by 41%.
And this is what Jack Chambers really took issue with.
He says, the report outlines in some instances greater levels of growth in management and admin, that frontline capacity.
For me, that's not acceptable in the medium term.
So he's really seen to be
pulling the strings there in the Department of Public Expansion and Reform, and he's saying enough of this now.
Well, in a similar vein, the Business Post reports also on the front page, BAM companies on the shortlist to dig up Dublin for MetroLink.
Now, of course, BAM is a huge contractor.

A division of BAM is part of the consortium shortlisted to undertake primary works for the long awaited Metrolink project.
Now, there was speculation this week that perhaps it will be 19 billion euro that the Metrolink ends up costing, which, you know, the Children's Hospital and its two billion odd pales in comparison when you look at that, those numbers increase.
