If after the first decade, it looked like there were lots of unintended consequences that we really didn't like the look of, how quickly could we stop it?
And one more question on that.
How long would we have to keep doing it for?
Are we talking centuries?
OK, thank you.
And thanks to Steve for that question.
I've got another question from Anthony.
And this question of growth is obviously one of the most fundamental ones at the heart of the whole environmental question.
Listeners can listen back to our episode with Kate Raworth, who's the author of Donut Economics.
And we had on Radical saying that the current economic growth model is incompatible with a healthy environment.
Thank you to Steve.
I've got another question here.
This one comes from Tom, and he says, you, this is you, David, you argue we need every tool, emission cuts, carbon removal, possibly solar geoengineering.
A couple of tensions.
First...
Carbon engineering, which you co-founded, was bought by Occidental, which uses direct air capture, partly to produce what it once called net zero oil.
Does it matter who owns the technology as long as it scales?
And we've addressed part of this, but we can come back to it.
And secondly, this is still Tom writing, if sunlight reflection can be cheap and available, does that undermine the case for companies paying hundreds of dollars a ton for removals?
Or does durable removal become the only way out of a world that's permanently reflecting sunlight?
