I've got some figures here, actually.
Roughly, cremation releases 400 kilograms of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere per body.

But there was a study in Sweden, I think, from a few years ago, where they evaluated composting against cremation and burial in the Swedish death care infrastructure.
And they found they were roughly the same.
