Um and so I I've taken all of the the listening skills and listening is in quotes that you learn as a counselor or therapist and brought them into coaching so that the coaches can be a little bit more, like I said, clinically informed about how to help their kids.
Yeah, I think
The hard answer is that it it needs to be a family event.
Um unless like you said, the kid is just motivated internally to to do this thing.
And and there are some kids that are
You know, for whatever reason they watch Commando uh 'cause it's on TNT and they're like, I wanna look like Arnold and now I'm gonna go work out.
Um and so some kids aren't like that.
And so it it really needs to be a f a family thing where we're all gonna go for a walk and we're all gonna go do this today and we're gonna make it fun and we're gonna play these games.
And um it it doesn't have to be hard, it doesn't have to be long, and it doesn't have to be arduous.
Um I I had my ADHD class, uh obviously we we shut it down when the state shut down and I sent everyone home with a jump rope.
Um and I said every day I'm gonna put a new workout on our our private Facebook group.
And I'm also going to put a mindfulness practice uh in the mornings as well.
And the the whole goal was to keep these kids active because, like you said, they're cooped up at home, they have ADHD and they're driving their parents crazy.
Um, so uh how do we keep them moving and and give them something to do that's also gonna give them all of the benefits that we talked about at the beginning of this episode?
Um and so what I came up with was a bunch of workouts that are like fifteen minutes long, that are very simplistic, that require no coaching at all, because that's sort of
You know, that's the other thing about coaching ADHDers is because their attention span may be so limited
We can't walk them through these complicated movements.
It needs to be very simple.
Pick up a keg and walk down there and walk back or push this this heavy thing down the turf.
And so um all of these workouts don't really require a whole lot of coaching and they can be done by by anyone.
