We finally, finally had that airport reunion we were waiting for.

And when we saw him come out, we all just ran to him, the four of us, and we just hugged and cried and hugged and cried.

And then my brother and I stood back, and we saw my parents hugging and crying.

And at that moment, we realized that we were made out of love, and we were finally allowed to love each other at the same time in the same place.

That week, we went to a Marlins game.

My dad met all of my American friends and family.

He even saw one of my shows.

And on July 27, 2019, at 6 PM, he walked me down the aisle.

I tell you, at my wedding, when I was sitting there having dinner with my new husband to the right, I could see my mom, my dad, my brother enjoying the party, and I thought to myself, wow, 17 years later and an ocean apart, what brought us back together was love.
