So the importance for us was to identify the cell structures and to focus all our covert investigations on them.

You were meeting similar-minded people who were basically, you know, the Irish became part of the global drug trafficking networks.
And if there was one thing that the Irish were good at as well, because of our history, was smuggling.
with the border, particularly with Northern Ireland.
So we had experts who were capable of moving products from A to B, and some people saw big business opportunities.
So they were a product of that movement.

They were a product of the developments in technology.
they were they were products of it's it's it's like they were in the right place at the right time which was spain which was the netherlands to interact with people internationally to access those direct uh routes from south america they were the products of cocaine exploding uh onto the scene as well and becoming a a unfortunately a popular drug
So because of those links, then they basically had their supply chains and nobody was able to beat the prices and it's supply versus demand.
