And they wanted to build it on a place that was the old Yugoslav Ministry of Defense headquarters.

Now, those of us who are up and down to Belgrade, uh, you would have known that it was one of the places that was bombed by NATO.

They bombed key military installations in Serbia during the war in Kosovo.

And it remained as a sort of monument to the victimhood of Serbians, or certainly uh it was destroyed.

described as a protected s cultural status significant building.

So somehow Jared Kushner managed to get a deal where he was going to build a Trump hotel there.

And um to the surprise of everybody, the Serbian prosecutor's office turned up and arrested the Minister for Culture because they had falsified documents in order to facilitate the planning for this hotel.

So rather strange uh rather strange outcome.

Uh Jared Kushner immediately backed out.

And Affinity Partners said ironically, this

And uh he hasn't said that yet about the one in Albania, but they seem to be having an extremely perhaps unintended detrimental effect.

And yet again the European Commission and Marta Koss has said that what they did was a serious step backwards.

Because as soon as I think this uh I think this um um uh prosecutor's office

got ahead of the curve because as soon as they arrested that minister who's very close to the Serbian president, half of them got moved out of their positions and the entire uh organised crime uh network and office were demoted or taken apart by the Prime Minister.

Well, it's it's friends and family, Pat.

There's got to be some friends involved as well.

This is a gas pipeline which has been it's long been uh promoted.

Um we have in Bosnia a pipeline that came from Russia through Ukraine to Serbia and to here, and it became a source of great instability politically and in terms of energy as soon as the Ukraine war kicked off.
