and capture that premium while you can, starts to break if there's a slowed down testing process, if the government is just deciding arbitrarily or without transparent criteria of what models are capable enough to release or have guardrails that are good enough to release, then it gives open-weight models more time to eat your lunch.
This is all predicated on the models continuing to get better, or at least they're continuing to be demand for the premium version of these things, which are priced at substantially above what it costs to serve them, which is why the open weight models are able to undercut them so much, right?
Like there's this big idea of like, oh, is it profitable to serve a given customer?
The answer is clearly yes.
The financial data shows us the fact that open weight models that are like in the same ballpark are so much cheaper.
Again, it's just showing like the raw cost.
which we don't know from the outside, but we can infer from a bunch of reporting, a bunch of other things.
And just like, think of how verbose the models are.
