Every poll has shown that the Iran war is profoundly unpopular. That is, in fact, perhaps the most unpopular war in American history. Trump was asked about this. Let's see what he has to say.
Well, Americans aren't against the war. A poll just came out. Americans don't want to have gasoline prices, but they're not against the war. That just came out loud and clear in a poll. Nobody wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Do you want Iran to have a nuclear weapon? Do you think it's good?
In fact, they are against high gas prices. They are also very much against the war. I don't have any idea what poll he is talking about. Harry Enten over on CNN did a breakdown of what the polling looks like on this war. Let's do a little fact check here.
Washington Post poll, Trump's Iran war net approval rating. In early March, look at this. It was way down there at minus 13 points. Very rare for a war to start off underwater on the net approval. That is approval minus disapproval. But look at how far down we are now. Right into the Red Sea, 40 points. points underwater, according to the Washington Post poll. Look, I tried to find every single poll I possibly could. I believe this minus 40 points represents the least popular poll in terms of Trump's net approval rating on the Iran war, the entire war so far. Think the war was worth it. Iraq in 2006, 58 percent said it was not worth it. Again, that was three years into that war.
