Otherwise you're going to have to press the button to close the rear wing out a little bit before you break, and that takes away the advantage of it.
So I see the the the Ferrari style wing, the the Red Bull style wing and now the McLaren wing if they run it.
That's a tricky point to me because if you look at the other wings as McLaren had previously where you you you left the leading edge of the flap upwards, you know, the the thing
Is the flap is running at less angle, you will still get flow on that flap, proper flow, because the leading edge is still facing forward, so the flow on that flap will still be decent, and all you're doing is increasing the angle of attack of the flap as it comes down and closes the slot gap.
So you would have a much more consistent reattachment of airflow to the whole wing under surface.
With that style of thing, a much easier reattachment than you will have with the one that flips over backwards, as I say, because the flows go in the opposite direction for a while on the on the main on the flap.
So I can see the problems that that can be created aerodynamically, the braking stability problems potentially.
And I can see mechanically, it's simple, you know, you can do it mechanically, no problem whatsoever, but it's
the aerodynamic side of it and the reattachment I think is critical to how that um how the flap really works.
It has one advantage, especially the Ferrari one, because for a little while in closing, it's a bit like a barn door.
It's it's you know, never mind the fact of downforce, as it's closing it's actually vertical for a while and so it ends up
being very good for drag.
So the minute the wing starts to shut, the minute you hit the brake pedal, it's like a parachute behind you.
You know, it'll slow the car down quite quite a lot, quite quickly.
So there's advantages as well as disadvantages.
But the thing you need for sure is the reattachment of the flow on the main plane and the flap to to work correctly as instantaneously as possible.
It's never been a full blown fact that I but I think the most interesting one was the what called the F duct, mm, you know, where the driver had control over the the ductwort that stole the rear wing.
Um you know
Yeah, you're s you know you're starving the starving the flu that's keeping it alive, I suppose you might call it.
