And I can tell you firsthand that when gardeners are bringing in the food in the gardening season,
When the families come in to get food, the first thing they go to is that table.
They will go to the fresh food before they get anything else.
They really understand the value.
They deeply appreciate the donations.
And so I've seen that over and over and over again.
I will tell you, there's also one question we get asked.
What do you do in the winter?
This is not about turning gardeners into farmers.
You can't, at least here in the, well, where I'm in the north, you don't garden in the winter.
But it's when you've got surplus food, when you have an excess amount of food that you're able to donate.
Nobody looks at a storm drain on a sunny day and says, why is that there?
They know it's there for when it's rainy and you want to get the road.
So ampleharvest.org is designed for helping gardeners donate their surplus harvest when they have a surplus.
And that will vary based on where in the country you are, the season, et cetera.
country one of the biggest countries without those millions and millions of dollars and you're doing it so that's pretty awesome and amazing and you know thanks for all the work you do so cool thank you I'll leave this with one thing in the early days I got a phone call from somebody saying we want to give you two million dollars at that point Ample Harvest was just me and I said I can't use that at this point give me 500 they said they couldn't do that I couldn't ethically take the money and I walked away from two million we're ready for it now when somebody wants that we're ready for that
