It's funny, holding the mic's given me specific anxiety disorder, but I'm just thinking in terms of the categorizations of the DSM, you know, there's the kind of ontological question, there's, you know, do these symptoms, this cluster of symptoms, are these real things in the world?

And I think you've done a lot to kind of unpack those ideas.

But then there's the question of identity and the political question.

I guess gender dysphoria is the kind of obvious one, you know, you only have access to treatment if you can point to a kind of, in cases where a disorder only exists because it's been reified or it's been kind of, there's this agreement.

And I'm wondering how your kind of more personalized approach to mental health would kind of allow for these kind of political contestations or, you know, whether it'd be a more productive way of kind of enabling those kind of things.

So, no, thank you for your question about you might have two siblings who have very similar experiences, but one of them has a lot of mental health problems and the other one does not.

You know, I always think of that as the orchid dandelion view of mental illness, where some people...

two people brought up in exactly the same kinds of circumstances, but one is in some way more sensitive or vulnerable and needs a certain kind of support in a way that another person didn't in the same way that an orchid will not flourish in the same environment that a dandelion might flourish.

I think that's really interesting.

And you said, you asked me if I was worried that people with deep mental health problems might be left behind.

That's certainly not anything that I am arguing for in this book.
