After domestic travel prices, clothing and footwear, base effects from the electricity feed in meant that uh the contribution of electricity uh to annual uh inflation has fallen.
Uh new dwelling inflation slowed a little bit to point four from point seven.
NABS market services inflation excluding rent and travel was 0.27 month on month.
Back to the kind of lower areas it was earlier this year before we had the jump up in May.
As my colleague Taylor uh Taylor Nugent wrote, um uh Governor Bullock on Tuesday in her speech, she said that under flying underlying inflation out uh outcomes had evolved broadly as expected as as they expected back in May.
So that suggests that the latest data we've got here means that there'll be
A bit of a shift down in the forecasts because obviously these numbers are coming low, even if marginally.
But we know cost pressures have have have re-emerged.
And so the data looks a little bit data from that from that point.
We don't know where these cost pressures are going to go, of course, from the Middle East.
But the RBA can take, I get think some comfort from you know indications of the domestic price pressures have eased a little bit, and all up it allows the RBA to sort of sit and watch and then as as
as as listeners should know, in our view, that this this this pause it will be extended, you know, for some time through we think as you know, things look at the moment into Q two next year.
Yeah, yeah.
So these are for June.
Uh they fell one point one percent in May.
Uh they're expected to ease again.
The May decline was led by volatile apartment approvals.
I think markets might be also be looking for sort of any uh evidence of uh the the sort of non residential bit which is which covers uh CapEx sorry, which covers uh sorry, data center build out.
So that that was strong uh in the last couple of months, up forty percent in the uh in the May reading.
Yeah, I think on the Europe stuff, I mean, this is one of those things that we would sometimes we talk about, you know, the sort of markets move on narratives, and and the narrat the narrative has been strong US economic numbers fading a little bit recently, but very weak European numbers starting to pick up a little bit.
