Then we get uh Kevin Walsh, a new Fed chair in a new Fed era.
We know he wants to reform.
The question was, or one of the questions was, just how quickly?
He absolutely hit the ground running.
A very short statement as to your uh opening lines: 131 words versus 341 at the last meeting.
Um, he wants
to underline CapEx and productivity, no surprise I guess, there from him.
And uh, you know, we've uh we've we've dropped the easing bias uh or the forward guidance.
That was expected.
Remember Jay Powell on his last meeting has suggested that that that was the way the committee was going.
I don't think he's any surprised by that.
And then um Kevin Walsh has announced a task force in five key areas uh which he said were
Uh he hoped to deliver by the end of the year.
He's not hard on that deadline.
It depends on the quality and the you know the the arguments they come up with.
Um these he said are central to the broad conduct of monetary policy.
So these are going to be in data data sources, productivity, and jobs, communications, the balance sheet, and it will all include the inflation frameworks, but not the two percent goal.
To my point, uh this is this is not the Kevin Walsh that some people have thought given, you know, uh what Donald Trump was at was and why he appointed him in the first place.
I think on the task force, I think if you think about it.
