The problem Canada has in terms of its oil sector is a version of the United States has with its oil sector, which is the environmental lobby.

Oil has been vilified, considered a dirty commodity, went through years of trying to get the Trans Mountain pipeline built, and there's resources there and there's a proven technology.

It's stable politically, but getting a pipe built has been extremely difficult.

kind of anti-oil lobby, anti-carbon lobby.

That is the big problem that the U.S.

and Canada have faced.

So people throw around the term demand destruction pretty loosely without understanding what they're really talking about.

And that's not meant to be an insult, but the fact is the one episode where we actually had true demand destruction in oil happened 45 plus years ago.

And back in the 70s, about 31% of the whole world's oil use was for either generating electric power or staying warm.

And the oil shocks of the 70s generated a number of changes.

And what we saw between 1979 and 1983 was 10% of world oil demand go away.
