I was like, oh my God, what's going on here?
That was when I sort of felt something was brewing, but not to the extent of anything larger than a really successful, cool club band, because that's all I knew of.
Everything Zen, the very first one.
So they knew one song and then they didn't know the rest of it.
But we were just on tour for so long at that point, maybe two years once that first hit.
All the clubs over and over and everywhere we went,

They'd all been, they were here a few weeks ago.
So you felt you were in the zeitgeist.
And so that felt really exciting, you know.
That record, 16 Stone, just yielded a bunch of singles that did really good and everything we, you know, you'd go on sale and sell everything out and you'd bring a song out and it would do well on the charts.
You had MTV.
There was an incredible confluence of MTV, radio, touring,

Like everything, it can get... It was also twisted in some ways against me in some regards at times.

Well, you know, you do the cover of Spin.

You're like, sort of a bit embarrassing.
