collection policy speaks to we want that breadth and depth so not just the 10 most popular titles right so so our selectors do a lot of research we one thing we do here and I think all libraries would do this is we really try to work with local authors to make sure we have that local content in our in our collection we do in both in Libby and for our print collection we do lots of book lists so we'll take a popular it was just spring break here for example so we did a bunch of
resources for students who are on spring break and things like that.
So we do curate our own lists in many cases.
So yeah, so calgarylibrary.ca is our website and there's book lists there.
If you're in the Libby app on your phone, you can see book lists there right on the front page.

Libby Overdrive has Overdrive librarians who curate lists and we sometimes will use some of those.
Last year when there was a real, I think, demand from our patrons to read Canadian titles.
And so we created a read Canadian guide in Libby.
So with multiple book lists, different topics, local authors, Indigenous authors, Alberta authors.
So we created those lists and you can see all those reading guides right in Libby.
Sure.
Yeah, it is a pretty fun job.
And I think often when people hear collections, they think that we're the people that collect overdue bills, but luckily our job is much more fun than that.
That's right.
Or the debt collectors.
But that's absolutely, our job is much more fun than that.

As I mentioned, we have six selectors who are choosing the material and then a whole team of staff who are helping to process that material.
