As a matter of course, we didn't wear forensic clothing at recovery scenes.
No, we always did that.
We instituted a policy right from the word go, this is from 2005, that whatever happened in an individual case, the family would never find out what was going on from anybody other than the commission in the first instance.
So we never wanted anybody to pick up a newspaper or turn a radio on or see a television newscast and find out something about their case.

appointed a family liaison officer right from the word go.
And it was actually John, who you know about.
And John was always in touch with the families.
Absolutely, yeah.
And so we always made sure that the families were not disappointed in the work of the commission, if that makes sense.
You know, they found out first.
Yeah, it was very, very rewarding work.
I mean, there's no two ways about that.
It was a wonderful, wonderful job to be able to do and great to satisfy, if that's the right word, families or get closure for families.
That's for sure.
