And it's also a bizarre thing.
I guess it happens in a lot of sports where, but especially when you're just suffering and there's this thing of you can just seem to say the most horrific things to people or get the most horrific things said to you and then just show up the next day and it's not really be a thing.
You've actually hit on a like a real theory of mine that it's getting so, back to your motorbike drivers, there is this thing where you do get quite a bit of draft from the motorbikes.
Right.
And a lot of the time when they sprint stages, they weren't like criticised for being boring because the breakaway used to get like five, six, seven minutes
And then, you know, they would just fall apart and they would catch them 30k to go.
Yeah.
And then this thing started happening where the breakaway started surviving on these sprint stages and it was really hard to chase them.
And so the sprint teams caught on and went, right, we're not going to give these guys seven, we used to give them 15 minutes.
We're going to give them one and a half minutes and we're going to peg them there and just like... And...
And like you say, we still only catch them last two, three K to go, sometimes one K to go.
But what I think is happening a lot of the time is that the organisers are actually staging a bit of this and going, right, let's just keep that camera motorbike quite close to him until we think that it's in danger territory.
And we saw it really badly in the Giro where like...
a breakaway of three riders that were just not big riders, let's say, being chased by 15 of, like, you know, big peloton of sprint teams, the best guys swapping off behind, and they weren't catching them.
And then they just fucked it a little bit, and they were meant to bring the motorbikes out, but it would be quite dramatic, and they would catch them in the last couple of Ks, but they held on and won the stage.
And...
It could be.
I mean, it's something that we noticed in this tour.
And that's why in this tour, like when I was pulling on, it happened on stage five or one of the first sprint stages, one of the international guys, we caught him.
We were just swapping off full gas behind.
