I remember going on a train when I was head of mobile in an agency and smartphones had just become a thing.

Everyone was trying to work out, do I need to build an app?

I remember going to see this big client who probably has lots of things in your house and cupboard at home.

And it was a big meeting and I was there and I was sort of saying, look, we're on this cusp of people using the internet differently because they're not just on laptops and PCs.

They've got it in their pocket now.

You know, people are going to buy sofas.

They're going to buy cars.

They're even going to hail taxis.

Like Uber wasn't really a thing.

I literally got laughed out of the room.

And as I went, people were patting me on the back going, yeah, well done.
