So both sides are in the process of testing each other as to who is more likely to survive the pains that the others are posing.
And we have not really launched an intense war.
We're fighting on the peripheries.

We are not attacking them with anything near the force we could for two reasons.
One, because we'd rather not do that.
We'd rather have a settlement for that.
Secondly, we're not certain that no matter how much force is imposed, the IRGC would capitulate.
So everybody is sitting here testing each other.
A full-scale war is not underway in any way.
But each side is threatening something of the other side.
And that's the stage we're at.
Where it'll go, that's a different question.
Well, this is where in geopolitics, usually...
Politicians don't enter it, but this is really a political issue.
The majority of people in the United States, large majority, are opposed to this war.
Not only Democrats, but also Republicans, because one of the reasons that Trump was elected was that he promised not to get in these endless wars that we were having from Vietnam through to Afghanistan, stopping in Iraq.
