I always thought that was cool.

Of course, until Homelander comes along and smashes his ears like he did

in that one episode.

But apparently there are humans who have claimed, visually impaired humans, who claim to be able to echolocate as well.

I started seeing this on shows.

There was a Stan Lee show that was called, I think, Superhuman or something like that, or Real Superheroes or something.

And they had a guy who was visually impaired who via the use of clicks

He would be able to tell what's in a room.

And this guy was so good at echolocating via these clicks that he could ride a bicycle, visually impaired, clicking down the sidewalk, riding a bike.

And the skeptical part of me was like, there's no way this is real.

There's no way this, like, this is being exaggerated.

This is, it's just something felt fishy to me.

And I would see other examples of people doing it.

And it just always felt kind of fishy.

Well,

A study was done recently that sort of proved that this is a real thing.

It might not be at daredevil levels of accuracy, but there are visually impaired people that have trained themselves to echolocate using clicks.

So there's an organization of neuroscientists.

It's the Neuroscientists at Smith Kettlewell Eye Research Institute, or SCERI.

That's what it's called.
