And I think the question for Europe and Ireland to ask itself is, okay, so let's say if we work with China, right, is China going to offer us, you know, another, you know, something that's the equivalent of NATO and is China going to help us deal with Russia?

I think the answer is to both of those questions are no.

I think I will be a little bit more careful making that assessment.

So the UK and China, they had certain agreements regarding Hong Kong when Hong Kong was returned to the motherland, China.

And of course, things changed.

And I remember when things changed, the Chinese official response is, oh, you know, we signed the treaty with the UK, you know, back in 1997, but it's really just a historical document.

So I would say that, you know, yes, there might be so-called more stability in the Chinese system, but it doesn't mean that the Chinese wouldn't necessarily hold up, you know, to its end, you know, of the bargain.

And of course, this is international politics, Pat, as you said, you know, no one's enforcing, you know, the rules.

So why should anyone stick to the rules?

I think international politics is the business where either you play others or others play you.
