Ultimately, in international politics, we all need to be responsible for ourselves.

We can't assume that America or Japan or any other country should be there for us.

And I would say the same lesson applies to Ireland and Europe.

I think in a sense, my way of thinking about the US these days, and of course, yes, US is Taiwan is very dependent on the US, probably even more so than Europe.

So I would say now the US has a lot of tough love, you know, for its allies, right?

You know, so in this regard, you know, maybe we should take the opportunity to learn that, okay, we need to become a bit more independent, right?

Like the toughness can be good.

And the key strategy here that the Chinese is playing is that, you know,

very likely face, you know, increasing, you know, restrictions, you know, in terms of access to the European market.

So one way to evade those restrictions is by producing those goods, you know, in Europe, right, to extend the production, you know, to, you know, to Europeans.

Indeed.

So I should say that this is a really good point because Chinese labor cost is actually going up these days.

You know, China is getting richer, you know, and a lot of people now they prefer to become a barista rather than working in a factory.

You know, it's the same in Shanghai and it's the same in Dublin or London.

So that's another big reason why China is thinking about moving its production abroad, I would say, you know, because the relative opportunity cost is lower.
