We just cry.
We think about the Terminator.
We think about Ex Machina.
Or maybe Star Wars.
Hollywood is so deeply embedded in our brains.
What does AI actually mean?
You know, really mean?
AI is not a magic wand, but it's not a terminator.
The system learns by accessing data.
AI is not a harbinger of utopia or dystopia.
And it changes its configuration in order to be able to predict stuff.
AI is something invented by us to advance our progress.
It's really complicated, beautiful math, but it is fundamentally just math.
AI is deeply entangled with our desire to be in control both of ourselves and the world around us, to control human behavior, to control the future, to control environmental outcomes, to control institutions and societies.
AI is already here.
