And it reckons that network costs would rise by about 20% to 40% by 2030, and by 2050, possibly double.

Euroelectric, the industry body for Europe's electricity companies, says that Acer has overstated it.
Their argument is that the regulators assumed weak growth in energy demand.
And that if far more of everything runs on electricity, whether it's cars or heating or industry, then the cost of the grid gets spread across much more usage and the charge on any one bill stays roughly where it is.
Well, I'd say three groups and not in equal measure.
So first of all, the Chinese manufacturers, they made money on volume.
As we said, nearly $3.8 billion worth of air conditioners coming into the European Union over this year, up more than 40%.
Secondly, the intermediaries, those who bought up those units and then sold them on, often at a hefty margin.
And thirdly, the energy suppliers who benefit from those costly spikes in prices at peak time that we were talking about.
And as we've seen, they're now much more often in the summer, not the winter, and in the evening.
Well, I think one interesting thing to note, Sam, an AC unit isn't, of course, just for one summer.
Once you've bought it, you can obviously use it again and again each year.
So there might not be quite as big a scramble for them in future years.
Nielsen told us that in France, for example, there are around 28 million households.
18 million of them have already got either AC units or fans since 2022, although a lot of them will want to upgrade.
But a lot of people will now be prepared, a little bit better prepared for future heat.
