And that's part of the problem with his strategy is that these seem to be talking points designed to speak to people in their 70s.
rather than to speak to the majority of people in the country today.
It's not clear that it'll work, but they're certainly trying.
And essentially what Trump is doing is trying to say that the Democratic Party is a national security threat and that it's because of some kind of communist infiltration that he's completely making up out of thin air.
Except it doesn't come out of thin air.
It comes out of a particular book that has become the talking points for the Republican Party.
The unhumans want you dead.
They want your way of life dead.
They want to see your children lobotomized and converted to their mindless, lawless, and godless ways.
These unhumans want you working your fingers to the bone, paying a life tax so that they can frolic in a fake multicultural utopia laced with government subsidies as you and your family die on the job, no chance of joy, no chance of freedom.
Curtis Yarvin, who's the main political guru of Peter Thiel, goes on X and says that it's important to use communism this way as a slur.
And that basically it should be a rhetorical punch in the mouth.
And one thing Yarvin's really good at is saying too much, is revealing the strategy.
I read the entire book in one sitting on a plane when it came out.
And here's what the thesis of the book is, that Democrats and liberals essentially are actually communists and that communists are actually unhumans, that liberals and progressives don't deserve rights, that they're not human.
And that if we don't treat them with exact reciprocity, meaning do unto them what we say they're going to do unto us, then we're in grave danger.
When Trump talks about communists, when Rubio and Miller talk about leftists as the national enemy, as a threat, they are using the strategy that was laid out in Unhumans.
