It brings to mind, you know, a country like Switzerland where so many of the finances or rather the financial fiscal powers today remain local.
And very much driven by the same principles of annual responsible finance and a sense of taxpayer um responsibility and accountability of the local governments as well.
And unsurprisingly Switzerland has a lot lower level of debt and much more prudence and sense of voter engagement in so many ways.
Going back to this remarkable character DeWitt Clinton, um what actually ends up happening to him in the end?
Roll over Bill and Hillary.
They're not the only Clintons that matter.
And I've learnt a lot, I really have, not least about why canals matter so much and why the other Clinton matters too.
And um I'm not yet as convinced as Robin that the Muni market, Muni Bomb market, is wildly sexy and exciting, but it's certainly critical to the way our economies work today.

And if you're wondering what this is, well it's the South Sea bubble.
And the man in the frame who helped Great Britain out of the disaster was Robert Warpole.
He would go on to rule Britain almost single handedly for the next twenty years, and it was the collapse of the South Sea Company which didn't just topple Britain's economy, it also helped him to get there.
Absolutely.
So what we're talking about today is how did Britain clean up its economy after this financial disaster, but also how we can spot bubbles, what we need to do to avert them, and above all else, why the aftermath of bubbles, which is so often ignored, matters enormously.
