Yeah.
So that I think is something probably that we should be doing more of in Texas.
I will say that a lot of frustration when it comes to our public schools, and especially in the past when it was less clear that it was about funding, is that special education is very expensive.
I think too often kids aren't getting what they need because the systems are just trying to sustain themselves.
And so their requests for accommodations or their requests for help are being โ are not being met.
Right.
Yeah.
And I agree with that.
And in Texas, it got so bad.
The special education system was so bad that even Betsy DeVos had to step in and hold Texas accountable under Greg Abbott because we were cutting the state under Abbott, under his TEA commissioner, was cutting corners and not identifying kids who deserved, were legally entitled to education.
to a special education because it's expensive, right?
So when Betsy DeVos has to come into your state and say your special education system is broken, I mean, there were real problems and there still are big problems.
Right.
And, you know, the Houston Independent School District was taken over by Greg Abbott.
Conversation and serious.
So probably nobody has been a greater champion of holding charter schools accountable than I have in the legislature.
And but I wouldn't.
But this is what my concern is.
But my concern is, to your point, it is a parallel school system.
that is taking resources from our neighborhood public schools, but it doesn't take all kids is the problem, right?
