And so what has been happening in Texas is that the charter schools will take the kids who don't have disciplinary problems, they take the easier, who don't need a special education, the kids who are easier to educate, right?
Well, I'll tell you that both of my sons have been to the principal's office because I am their mother and I had it coming.
And so there are charter schools that would not take these kids who had been even just going to the principal's office and they were denied admission.
I got passed this year legislation that said you cannot discriminate against kids because of their disciplinary nature.
But that's just one example.
There's also we make sure there is that same accountability when it comes to transparency for decision making, when it comes to parents' rights, when it comes to spending, when it comes to nepotism.
We've had it.
We have had a nepotism problem in charter schools that I don't think taxpayer dollars should be a part of.
So it's these kind of accountability measures.
I will say overall, big picture accountability.
We have had just a boom in charter school growth in Texas, and there's no strategic plan as to why.
It is just the spending of more taxpayer dollars.
And I think we need a timeout.
Let's assess the big picture.
What is the plan here?
Allocation.
So education is paid for in large part by our property taxes.
Our property taxes have skyrocketed under Greg Abbott.
I mean, everybody's angry, rightfully so.
That's another old conversation.
