I am honored to have served the community of Austin in the Texas House.
I'm originally from the Rio Grande Valley.
We've been back there about six or seven times since we launched.
We launched in Brownsville.
The Rio Grande Valley went for Trump last election cycle.
Trump won it.
And so what's your explanation?
Why do you believe that is the battleground?
Well, I think a big one was border security.
So at the time I was chair of the House Campaign Committee, I was appointed by our Democratic caucus chair to lead up that effort.
So I went to the valley for campaign purposes.
We had a house seat in play.
And people were so angry about border security.
But remember, at the time, there were the caravans coming over.
It was chaotic.
People were living under bridges.
Biden was mums.
