We also have the new big concern, frankly, for our grid are these data centers that are popping up all over the state.
Greg Abbott has said we're going to have more data centers than any other state in the nation.
I mean, right?
In Texas, it's predicted we will have to pay about 600 more dollars a year with the cost of electricity.
Right.
Because they want to socialize the expense and then and then privatize electricity.
The profits.
These are data centers that are owned by the richest men in the world, and they should pay for themselves.
So the whole data center AI thing is something that we're all struggling to get ahead of.
But at basic bare minimum, they should pay for themselves.

But there are big challenges with how our grid is going to be able to meet the energy needs of these data centers.
And also, I will say that there is in Texas a big problem
that we have partisans who are in the legislature who are insistent that renewable energy should not be part of the equation.
Renewable energy has been essential to keeping this grid going in Texas.
Renewable energy has been essential to helping with the cost of electricity in Texas.
But
On so many issues, it's the ideology, the ideological kind of true believers on when it comes to fossil fuels who are just opposed and who threaten the viability of our grid, too.
Yeah, look, I'm not against it.
I know there are concerns, and I think we need to make sure that we're addressing any externalities, any kind of fallout.
