It was a big shock to...
the people who have been observing politics in Texas for a long time because it's so anti-Texan and so deeply unpopular.
But he got a $6 million check from Jeff Yaz, an out-of-state billionaire from Pennsylvania who was pushing vouchers.
And so, and now like, and we've already had stories about grift happening in this voucher program that hasn't even started, right?
So that's what this is.
It's taking our taxpayer dollars and spending them in a way where there's no transparency, no accountability.
And a lot of Republicans are against it, to your point about how education vouchers can be the issue that cuts through partisanship.
I saw it here in Texas in a big way.

So I'm originally from South Texas, from the Rio Grande Valley, where there is a lot of poverty.
I grew up and I went to public school in Brownsville, right?
The southernmost tip of Texas.

Yeah, we went without, right?
And that shouldn't happen.
