uh weber wrote in his book that after he returned from the post-race press conference because he finished third um he thought he'd done a good job of not escalating the situation before he'd had a chance to talk to anyone from the team so he doesn't really know what's going on but he you know you can find this transcript online mark does quite a good job of trying he doesn't know what the party line is yet but he's trying to guess where it is and trying to follow it um
He said that when he got back, he couldn't believe what I was walking into.
He said that Horner seemed to be managing things well enough and was doing a good job of being diplomatic.
But Marco was blaming Weber and Weber felt Horner seemed to perform a 180 degree turn to end up agreeing with Marco.
Webber said he was also put out by the TV footage during the race that showed Vettel going to the Red Bull pit wall and being hugged by the team.
With Mark saying, I began having serious doubts as to who was really pulling the strings at Red Bull Racing.
Adrian Newey wrote about this in his book as well.
He said Marco's comments caused near anarchy for Red Bull and left Newey and Horner trying to manage the damage behind the scenes as the situation spiralled out of control in public.
So Ed, as I mentioned, you're in that scrum, you're stood behind Marco, you're looking at him very sternly, I would say.

One thing there seems to be unity on from everyone involved in this chaotic situation looking back years later is that Red Bull definitely handled it badly in public.

Webber felt that no one really knew how to handle a scenario that effectively played out in front of a global TV audience.
Which perhaps explains why the story just becomes a runaway train in the days following the race.
