Most of them probably don't want to be doing what this administration is requiring them to do.

So I think we have to break that into two parts.

One, just as is true in the military, I was active duty army six and a half years.

And you know what I had drilled into my head at both officer basic training.

And then when I went to the army's JAG school after I graduated law school is that yes, we must obey lawful orders, but even more importantly,

We must, we are duty bound to disobey unlawful

And every member of the military is going to have to make that decision for themselves.

I'm talking with some military law experts right now and hope to put some videos out soon encouraging the members of our armed forces to remember their oath to the Constitution and their responsibility to disobey unlawful orders.

But the same holds true to law enforcement more broadly.

You cannot obey unlawful orders from the president of the United States or from your agency head or from your captain or your lieutenant or your sergeant.

So everybody has to make the decision for themselves, and they're going to have to live with the consequences.

Because listen, if a soldier or a sailor, a Marine, an Air Force member disobeys an order and it turns out it was a lawful order,

Well, then they're looking at potentially a court martial or what's called Article 15 nonjudicial punishment.

So these are not easy calls.

But when has fighting for our republic ever been easy?

It's such a great point.

And here's what I believe from my time on active duty, even though it was many years ago.

I think the same holds true today.

I think the armed forces of the United States have more Mark Millies than they do Mike Flynn's.

And I hold fast to that.
