They want to they want to poison the well of public opinion by saying, look, look at all this horrible stuff.
Their thing is always announcing that people have done bad stuff, announcing investigations, not actually prosecuting people, because for that.
The person actually had to commit a crime has to be indicted and the government has to have evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to prove they committed the crime.
We haven't seen a single prosecution of any of Donald Trump's avowed enemies.
So, you know, I don't know that we're going to see one of John Bolton either.
Yeah, well, Don, can I please tell you as a career federal prosecutor at DOJ for a quarter of a century, that's because federal prosecutors typically only bring evidence.
damn near bulletproof cases because if they don't like the case or it has some weakness, they can do a couple of things.
One, they can kick it to the states because when you commit a federal crime, you almost invariably also commit a state crime.
So they kick weak cases to the states.
I was not a good bureaucrat at DOJ.
I got counseled multiple times because they don't like when people kind of expose what's really going on inside of DOJ.
It's a great organization.
